Ollie Bradshaw

Maggie Valley, Ollie Sue Caldwell Bradshaw, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her daughter's residence in Asheville. Ollie was born in Cataloochee and a lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Eliza Alice Rich Caldwell and was preceded in death by her husband, Lester James Bradshaw, a daughter, Katherine Genevieve Hoglen, sons-in-law, Bobby Radcliff and Jimmy Holcombe, sisters, Maggie and Mattie Caldwell, Wilma Rich, an infant sister and her brother, Jarvis Caldwell. Ollie's entire life was anchored by her Christian faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior. She was a role model "Proverbs 31" woman to all her family and friends and was a member of First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley for over 70 years. Ollie loved to cook and always enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner for her family. She also adored children and had a love for many that she "adopted" as her own. Ollie is survived by three daughters, Margaret Bradshaw Radcliff of Maggie Valley, Betty Bradshaw Gaddy and her husband, Jon, Sr. of Asheville and Dianna Bradshaw Holcombe of Maggie Valley; sister, Mary Lou Caldwell Clevenger of Clyde; two grandchildren, Jon Gaddy, Jr. and Misty Holcombe Chandler and her husband, Kenny; great-grandson, Cade Mason Chandler; son-in-law, Jerry Hoglen of Clyde; honorary family members, Clint Watkins and Carol Watkins Launer and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment services are private.
