Ollie Shuler

Canton - Ollie Trantham Shuler, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Madison County and the daughter of the late Juddy David and Hattie Ethel Woody Trantham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace E. Shuler; a sister, Ocie Swanger and two brothers, Garland and Lester Trantham. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Anna Marie Clark of Canton and Sandra Morrow and her husband, Perry of Waynesville; a son, Carroll Shuler of Canton; two sisters, Anna Lee Wike of Catawaba, NC and Wilma Jean Morgan of Franklin, NC; a brother, Carroll E. Trantham of Clyde; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and a special friend, Maria Pressley. A very special thanks to her caregivers, Joyce Boyd, Debra Wright and Wanda Neil and to Hospice. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. Pallbearers will be Danny Lee and Darron Clark, Allen, Will and John Morrow, Terry Trantham, Dewayne Clark, Clifford Wike and Tim Morgan. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
