Owen Trantham

Owen Hugh Trantham, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2007. He was a native of Buncombe County and the son of the late Marion and Virginia Welch Trantham. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Griffin Brown who died in 2000. He retired from Felkel Oil Company with 35 years of service. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Audrey S. Trantham, he is survived by a son, Danny Trantham and wife, Rachel, of Bryson City; two stepsons, Jim Griffin and wife, Sheila, of Lexington and Ricky Griffin and wife, Karen, of Leicester; a son-in-law, Ronnie Brown of Canton; a sister, Martha Rae Brown, of Limestone, TN; a brother, Larry Trantham and wife, Marie, of Fontana; and eight grandchildren, Tenisea Griffin of Waynesville, Aaron Griffin of Raleigh, Joey Robinson of Leicester, Jason Griffin of Waynesville, Cameron Brown of Waynesville, Amber Trantham of Falls, PA, and Catalena Martinez and Jazmine Read of Bryson City. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Mr. Jim Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
