Waynesville-Palmer Caldwell, age 66, of Killian Street, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the VA Medical Center. He was a native of Haywood County and a former resident of Phoenix, Arizona. He was the son of the late Hardy R. and Mary Ann Medford Caldwell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey D. Caldwell, and by a sister, Guylene Ross. He was truck driver with the Salvation Army. He was an Army veteran and a member of the VFW. He is survived by a daughter, Angela Caldwell Hoffpauir of Waynesville; a sister, Ethel Shetley of Waynesville; a brother, Hardy R. Caldwell, Jr. of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Kenan Ray Hoffpauir of Marion, NC, and Erian Rachel Hoffpauir of Charlotte; and one great grandson, Aiden Kahal Hoffpauir of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. The Reverend Steve Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the services, at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Ray and Ethel Shetley, 144 Shetley Road, Waynesville. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.
