Pamela Owenby

Canton - Pamela Kay Pless Owenby, age 60, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Chatham County, she was the daughter of the late Harold Pless. The family would like to thank those who cared for her during her dialysis; all her nurses, technicians, Dr. Durham and Dr. Aiello for helping her the last few years, even when her other doctors didn't want to be bothered by her. They would also like to thank all her newly found friends including Kip, Jeanette, Brenda "her sister", and others. A special thank you to her nurse Melanie Burris for helping her through the good and bad times, she loved you Melanie. She would like to be remembered as someone that loved God and Jesus and know They have kept me all these years.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Calvin Owenby; her mother, Clady Cranford Pless, of Waynesville; two daughters, Kristy Heatherly and her husband, Jeff, of Canton and Tammy Leatherwood and her husband, Kevin, of Canton; two brothers, Wayne Pless and wife, Susan, of Weaverville and Jeff Pless and wife, Mary, of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah Heatherly and Sawyer, Zeb, and Kaylee Leatherwood; and her Chihuahua, Rascal.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jake Cagle and Reverend Jeff Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Gwyn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
