Pansy Griffin

Candler – Pansy Crane (Miss Pansy) Griffin, age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Dahlonega, Georgia, she had resided in Candler for the past 65 years and was the daughter of the late J. P. and Mae Crane. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Carrol Crane; and a son-in-law, Ronald Passmore. She loved her church and her Christian life came first. Pansy and her husband, Deverow served as Sunday school teacher of four year olds for 30 years at Ridgeway Baptist Church. Pansy loved working in her flowers, and traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them all dearly. Pansy was especially thankful for the many blessings in her life, her loving and kind husband, and the good life they had together. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Deverow Griffin; two daughters, Karen Wilson and Vicki Lynn Passmore both of Candler; two sisters, Readie Donaldson of Clyde and Mary Rhinehart and her husband, Bob, of Dahlonega, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jonathan Hollifield and Angela Hollifield; two great-grandchildren, Cheyene Crawford and Kacyn Lovette; and three step-grandchildren, Odesyeus, Keely, and Zoe Passmore. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jackie W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
