Pansy Reeves

Waynesville, Pansy Bryson Reeves, age 77, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011. Born in 1934, she was the youngest daughter of the late Carl and Ninnie Bryson of the Iron Duff Community in Haywood County. She was preceded in death by sisters Edna Davis, Ila Lepley, Jessie Humphrey, and Billie Davis, a brother Mack Bryson, and great grandson Patrick Crumpler. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Ted Reeves, with whom she shared more than 61 years of marriage and 52 years of ministry in various Baptist churches in Haywood and Jackson County; a daughter, Teddie McClure, and husband Mike; two sons, Larry Reeves and Randy Reeves and special friend, Pam Whitmire. Also surviving are grandchildren and their families Duane Norman and wife, Amy, with their daughters, Sarah and Rachel; Christi Crumpler and husband, Neal, with daughter, Allyson, and son, Riley; Rebecca Dean and Sara Reeves; Tim Reeves and wife, Beth, with son, Lawson, and daughter, Zadie; and Tyler Reeves. Surviving siblings include four sisters Lois Pippin, Ruby Green, and Sally Kate Phillips of Waynesville, and Susie Richards of Rossville, Georgia; and one brother Duane Bryson of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the services. A committal service and burial will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesville. Officiating will be Reverend Tim Reeves, Reverend Larry Reeves, and Duane Norman. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers and in acknowledgment of the need for research into the causes and possible cures of Juvenile Diabetes, the family requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Charlotte Chapter, 205 Regency Executive Park Drive, Suite 102, Charlotte, NC 28217(www.jdaf.org/charlotte) or Gideon International – Haywood West Camp, P.O. Box 634, Waynesville, NC 28786.
