Waynesville, Patricia "Patsy" Moore, 72, died peacefully Monday, August 28, 2017 after a brief illness.

Patsy was the daughter of Edith Stamey Edwards of Bethel and the late David Carl Edwards. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Jon Nanney. To know Patsy was to know a true blessing. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she will be greatly missed. Patsy's life is the embodiment of Christian love. Throughout her life at Bethel United Methodist Church, she served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and Bible School Director. She loved working with the kids.

Patsy and Sonny celebrated 38 years of a happy marriage. One was hardly ever seen without the other and they loved being with family and friends as much as quiet moments with each other.

Patsy and her sister Evelyn spent many wonderful years growing up on their Mama and Daddy's farm. There have never been two closer sisters. The love shown them by their parents bonded them into a Christ-centered life which they have passed on to their children.

Patsy's interests were crafting, cooking, and home décor. Throughout the years, she and Julie had countless hours of fun around the house, drinking coffee, talking, and planning projects to keep Sonny busy. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her grandson Jake. She loved his card tricks and watching him skateboard.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Sonny Moore; daughter, Julie Brittain, and her husband, Patrick, of Boone; grandson, Jacob Brittain; sister, Evelyn Lanning, of Waynesville; niece, Kathleen Lanning, of Waynesville; and a nephew, Kevin Lanning, of King, North Carolina.

Throughout the good times and bad, Patsy reminded us all "Rejoice in the Lord always". I will say it again "Rejoice!" - Philippians 4:4.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. G. David Russell. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
