Patricia Posey

Patricia Gayle Petree Posey, age 67, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Memorial Mission Campus. A native of Forsythe County, she is the daughter of Howard Gray and Elsie Tew Petree of Winston-Salem. Patricia was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and received her Bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University. She taught for 32 years in the Haywood County school system and retired in 2003. Patricia was recognized as a Paul Harris fellow with the Rotary Club and was also a past-president of the Jaycettes. She will always be remembered for her selfless spirit and unceasing love for her family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas C. Posey, Jr.; one daughter, Ashley Posey Martinez and her husband Tony, of Columbus, Georgia; one son, Tiger Posey and his wife, Kisa, of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; one brother, Howard Gray Petree, Jr. and his wife Betty, of Winston-Salem; and three grandchildren Lily, Piper and Jack Martinez. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Canton Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Paul Brown and Reverend Frank Grice officiating.
