Patricia Saunders

Patricia Jane Ross "Pat" Saunders, age 82, of Springdale Estates died Monday, June 22, 2009, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Butler, PA, she had resided in Haywood County for the past 31 years. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna Morrow Ross. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Leroy Saunders, who died in 2001. She retired as a registered nurse from St. Vincent Catholic Hospital in Jacksonville, FL with 35 years of service. She was a long-time employee of the Springdale Country Club working in the Pro Shop. She is survived by two sons, Brett Patrick Saunders and his wife, Connie, and Steven Oliver Saunders both of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Erin Evert of Canton; a brother, Bob Ross of Wilkesboro; and six grandchildren, Tripp Long, Lauren Evert, Christy, Catherine, Ryan and R. C. Saunders. A private memorial service will be held at Springdale Country Club. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
