Patricia Shook

Clyde – Patricia Treadway “Pat” Shook, 76, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Carolina Caring in Newton, North Carolina.

Patricia was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Dolph and Annie Rathbone Treadway.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Vincent Rhinehart, who died in 2003; two brothers; and one sister.  Pat served with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s office as a deputy.  She also served as property manager of three apartment complexes, Timber Ridge in Clyde, Hickory Hollow in Waynesville, and Smokey Ridge in Hendersonville.  Pat was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Byrd (Tommy “Brillo”) of Sherrill’s Ford; son, Barry Treadway (Dani) of Canton; two sisters, Shelba Browning of Canton and Catherine Bradshaw of Clyde; a brother, Dolphus Luther “Red” Treadway of Canton; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Worley officiating.  Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Shook has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
