Candler – Patrick Alan Brooks, 61, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Lloyd Thomas and Wilene Duckett Brooks and was a dedicated employee of Evergreen Packaging for 39 years. Pat was a simple, quiet man who enjoyed the peace of his home. He loved his family dearly and always helped anyone around him in need. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon Campbell Brooks; one daughter, Kelli Brooks Cody of Asheville; three sons, William Patrick Brooks and wife, Ashley, of Anderson, South Carolina, Lloyd Thomas Brooks and wife, Kristy, of Candler, and Jeremy Campbell Brooks and wife, Misty, of Candler; one sister, Connie Burch and husband, Richard, of Clyde; one brother, Mike Brooks of Candler; and six grandchildren, Tyler and Lily Brooks, Jackson and Connor Brooks, and Jacob and Lindyn Brooks. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Reverend David Scruggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. The family would like to express deep appreciation to the wonderful staff of St. Joseph Campus for their compassion over the past month.
