Patsy Mathews

Waynesville, Patsy Arrington Mathews, age 77, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at her son's residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James Way and Tinnie Kirkpatrick Arrington and was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Patsy was employed at St. John's Daycare and enjoyed walking and spending time with her family. Patsy is survived by two daughters, Linda Russell (Phil) of Canton and Tracie Phillips (Rodney) of Waynesville; a son, William Mathews (Teana) of Morristown, Tennessee; two sisters, Marcene Calhoun of Waynesville and Shirley Arrington of West Palm Beach, Florida; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and the father of her children, Virgil Mathews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.
