Waynesville, NC-Paul Baxter Brown, age 80, of Camry Place, died on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Dickson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Mark and Ora Lee Larkins Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Belle Brown, who died in 2000; a daughter, Paula Brown, who died in 1964, a sister, Jenny Fussell; and a brother, Hugh D. Brown. He was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in Europe. He received his Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering Degree from the University of Tennessee. He was a retired executive of Proctor and Gamble and traveled the world extensively. He was a member of Central Haywood Church of Christ and served as an elder for 18 years. He also served for many years as an elder at Withamsville Church of Christ in Cincinnati, OH. He and his first wife, Belle, created the Bearwallow Resort in Spring Creek where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sue Brown; one daughter, Donna Habegger, and her husband, Breck, of Morristown, TN; one son, Gary Brown and his wife, Muriel, of Louisville, TN; two stepsons, Joseph Hutto of the Cruso Community and Jeffrey Hutto, of the Lake Logan Community; three sisters, Iva Pellam, of Gallatin, TN, Christine Steele, of Charlotte, TN, and Rowena Shelton of Dickson, TN; three brothers, Robert Brown of Henderville, TN, Thurman Brown of Odom, IN, and Derwood Brown of Tullahoma, TN; and four grandchildren, Jessica Roberts and her husband, Matthew, of Knoxville, TN, and Christian, Paul, and Philip Habegger of Morristown, TN. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Central Haywood Church of Christ with Bill Messer officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Saturday prior to services at the church. Additional services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, TN. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Brown Family Cemetery.
