Bethel-Paul Clifford Cabe, age 79 of the Hidden Valley area in the Bethel Community died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Jackson County and had lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was a son of the late Louie and Hettie Reynolds Cabe. Mr. Cabe was employed by American Enka as an electrician and later owned and operated Cabe's Gulf in Bethel for 17 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ethel Mae Pinkerton Cabe, one daughter, Barbara Jean Rigdon and her husband Tucker, two sons, Danny C. Cabe and his wife Barbara and Eddie Cabe and his wife Selena, all of Bethel, five sisters, Bertha Cooke and Ethel Ashe, both of Canton, Alice Owle, Phyllis Lambert and Carol Cabe all of Cherokee, two brothers, Thomas Cabe of Sylva and Frank Cabe of Canton, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews, in particular Odette and David. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2004 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Danny and Barbara Cabe.
