Paul Hoffman

Paul K. Hoffman, age 91, passed away on July 4, 2011. He died from end stage Parkinson's disease after suffering for 5 years though valiantly fought to live his life as normally as possible. Mr. Hoffman was born on January 4, 1920 in Skippack, PA. He has been a resident in Clyde, NC for the past 17 years. Paul was predeceased by his son, Bruce Hoffman (wife Leslie Hoffman); great grandson, Jentsen Hoffman, son of Brian and Tae Hoffman; and his stepson, John Ireland. Mr. Hoffman was a retired Lt. Col. in the United States Air Force and a decorated veteran serving in WW2 as a bombardment squadron pilot, SAC . Paul was an avid golfer, loved to have home projects and take care of his acre of grounds. He stayed well informed of current World events and was able to do all of these until 5 years ago when Parkinson's disease slowed him down. Paul was a real gentleman and extremely intelligent and kind, helpful and considerate of others. Paul had a strong faith in God and quietly lived his life according to his beliefs. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ireland; two sons, Kent Hoffman and his wife, Peggy of Bloomington, IN; Jeffrey Hoffman of Jupiter, FL; two grandchildren, Brian Hoffman and wife, Tae; and Kyle Hoffman; his daughter- in- law, Leslie Hoffman; and step daughter, Julie Ireland. He will be missed beyond words. But there is peace in knowing that he is now in Heaven with Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. A private family gathering will take place later in the summer.
