PAUL JONES

Waynesville-Paul Jones, age 72, of Troy Court, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Jackson County, he had lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of Georgia Creasman Jones of Sylva and the late Norman Jones. He was employed for 15 years as a butcher for McKay's.

He is survived, in addition to his mother, by his wife of more than 50 years, Nellie Pressley Jones; two daughters, Beverly Robinson, and her husband, Dillard, of Maggie Valley and Diane Schwall and her husband, Richard, of Lake Junaluska; two sons, Paul David Jones and his wife, Patsy, and Jamie Jones, both of Waynesville; two sisters, Virgie Bishop of Cullowhee and Ollie Coggins of Glenville; three brothers, Johnny Jones of Cherokee, Bobby Jones of Winston-Salem, and Jess Jones of High Point; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis Queen and Reverend Charles Hamilton officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the funeral home, and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
