Paul Lee

Waynesville, Paul David Lee, age 73 of the Hyatt Creek community, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Luther and Rosa Robinson Lee. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Hensley; 7 brothers and 5 sisters. He retired from Lea Industries with 7 years of service and was employed by A. C. Lawrence for 28 years. He loved spending time outdoors and could fix about anything and attended Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Paul had a very strong work ethic and loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce "Jincie" Green Lee, two sisters, Carrie Laney and her husband Gene of Robbinsville; Christine Shelton of Valdese; one son, Rocky Lee and his wife Zelva, a son-in-law, Noel Hensley, daughters, Diane Pressley and her husband Ralph and Donna Messer and her husband Phil; grandchildren, Preston Messer, Crystal Young and her husband David, JR Hensley and his wife Cassie, Emily Lee and her fiancé Shannon Ball,; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hensley and Chloe Ball; step-great-grandchildren, Summer and Austin Young. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Larry Coates and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lydell Mintz, David Mintz, Kenneth Green, Carl Green, Ronnie Jo Lee, Junior Gaddis, Logan Lee and Vince Stiles. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
