Paul Rhodes

August 30, 1928 — November 9, 2014

Paul Joshua Rhodes, 86, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 09, 2014. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Gavin and Margaret Souther Rhodes. Paul served his Country in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. He was built Ford tough, never owning a different brand of vehicle. When he wasn't working as a glazier he was busy in his workshop. He and his sons went to the Daytona 500 for 21 years in a row until 2001. He adored his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Vondell Henson Rhodes; children, Dusty Rhodes, Pam (Shane) Fish, Mike Rhodes, Linda (Kenneth) Case and Vic (Michelle) Rhodes, all of Candler; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, November 12th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends in the Chapel on Wednesday from 1-3PM. Entombment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors will follow the chapel service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John F. Keever Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
