Pauline Davis

"Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother" Clyde, Pauline Bishop Davis, 86, passed away September 12th at her residence surrounded by her family. Pauline was born and lived in Haywood County for her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ada Bishop; sisters, Anna Bell Apple, Clara Gavitt, Ethel Arrington, Frances Best, Eva Queen, Lucille McQuirt; and two brothers, Hershel and Bill Bishop. Pauline was a lifelong member of Crabtree Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and held numerous other positions. She loved both her church and her church family. Pauline was a wonderful baker and many people have enjoyed her cakes, cobblers and pies over the years. Taking care of her family and friends was very important to her. She was a true homemaker in every sense of the word. Pauline is survived by her husband William V. Davis; daughter, Sherry Raulerson (Blake); sons, Mike Davis (Karen), Reverend Alan Davis (Jenee); five grandchildren, Reverend Heath Davis (Shonda), Kelli Raulerson, Jesse Davis(Michelle), Sara Davis, and Rachel Downs(Zack); step-grandchildren, Jackie Hannah, Mandy Schmershal; great-grandchild, Erica Davis; step-great-grandchildren, Bella Hannah, Addie Schmershal, and Oliver Hannah; a sister, Geraldine Tedder (Bill); and a brother, Jack Bishop; sisters-in-law, Margaret Tompkins and Maude Davis; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Crabtree Baptist Church with the Reverend Alan Davis, Reverend Heath Davis and Reverend Charles Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger and Eddie Bishop, Robbie Corbin, Jesse Davis, Dean, Gary, Keith and David Tedder. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. A very special thank you to her precious caregivers; Gertrude Best, Bobbie Jean Kelley, Amanda Tannerhill and the many wonderful Hospice Caretakers.
