Pauline Debord

Candler – Pauline DeBord – age 82, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at her residence. A native of Monroe County, TN, she was a daughter of the late Winnie Britton Best. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow and Brunner Best, and a sister, Eva Parks. Pauline was employed by Hadley's as a seamstress and was a member of Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church. She was a special and caring person who had a very loving family. Food was a big part of her family and life. Pauline always wanted to make sure that her guests were fed and she enjoyed having people around her table. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill DeBord; three daughters, Brenda Fitz and her husband, David, of Knoxville, TN, Beverly Holland and her husband, Jack, of Waynesville, and Diana Shoff and her husband, Curtis, of Enka; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
