Pauline Hendricks

January 16, 1919 — February 6, 2016

Waynesville, Pauline Reid Hendricks, age 96, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Brian Center. A native of Six Mile, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Harriett Roberts Reid. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hendricks; six sisters, Viola Ellenburg, Juanita Rogers, Louise Williams, Burnice Nicholson, Evelyn Jones and Willie Grace Davis; and seven brothers, Furman, Clyde, Clayborn, Virgil, Ed, Loyde and Ray Reid. Pauline's family was very dear to her. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, working with children and especially having family and friends over to visit. She was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She is survived by two sons, Carrol Hendricks and his wife, Pauline, of Waynesville and Reid Hendricks of Waynesville; one granddaughter, Diane Robinson and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A special thank you to Pauline's caregivers, Bobbie Kelly, Sarah Mulcahy, Karen Clark, Rachel Kinsland, Doris Wyatt and Yolanda Ferguson.
