Pauline Robinson

Pauline Pace Robinson, age 90, formerly of 77 Blalock Street, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010, after living a full and wonderful life, at the Brian Center in Waynesville. She was born on February 25, 1920, in Marble, NC and was the daughter of the late Early Alexander and Birdie Mae Neal Pace. She had been a resident of Haywood County since 1924 when her parents moved to Canton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene Ellis Robinson, who died in 1993; a granddaughter, Sherri Lynn McClure, who died in 1989; and seven brothers and sisters, Wendel Pace, E. A. Pace, Jr., Winston Pace, Forrest Pace, Edith Pace Summey, Wayne Earnest Pace, and Arnold Pace. She is survived by four daughters; Phyllis King, Lynda Jean Haynes, Eunice Ward and her husband, H.S. Ward, Jr., and Mary Lee Hollifield all of Haywood County; nine grandchildren, Keith McCracken of Clyde, Lisa McClure Tate of Plano, TX, Eric McCracken of Asheville, Todd McCracken of Raleigh, Angela Patterson and her husband, Joey, Monica Burrell, Julia Hengstmann and her husband, Hjalmar, all of Greenville, SC, Anthony Hollifield and his wife, Denise, and Chad Hollifield and his wife, Tracy, all of Asheville and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mabel Webb and Geraldine Williams of Canton; and her roommate at the Brian Center and special friend, Bell Parham. She was a long time member of West Canton Baptist Church and much enjoyed her church family who continued to support her with their visits, prayers, and gifts. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Brian Center for their loving care during the last years of her life. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Steadman and Reverend Wallace Britt officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
