Pauline Sharp

Canton - Pauline West Sharp, age 83, of Hungry Creek Road of the Cruso Community, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Ollie Burress West. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Ervin Sharp, who died in 1987 and two brothers. Pauline was a homemaker and a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Worley and her husband, Arnold, of Marion; two sons, Michael Sharp and his wife, Pat , of Canton and Bobby Sharp of Waynesville; three sisters, Doris Parker of Canton, Carolyn Carter of Swannanoa, and Berlyn Coffey of Statesville; six grandchildren, Jared Sharp, Charity Evans, Steve Worley, Amanda Bridges, Krista Leatherman and Kim Hoffman; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at East Fork Baptist Church with Reverend Chan Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
