Pearl Jones

June 1, 1920 — February 11, 2014

Pearl Banks Jones, age 93, formerly of Smathers Street, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Silver Bluff Assisted Living Arrowhead Cove. A native of Byington, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Joe Henry and Jessie Clevenger Banks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Jones, who died in 2005; a daughter, Peggy Jones Warner, who died in 2003; and eight brothers, Claude, Charlie, Ben, Oscar, Arthur, Robbie, Paul, and George. Pearl was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church and her family was always the light of her life. She is survived by her son-in-law, Don Warner; one granddaughter, Michelle Sawyer of Canton; a grandson, Chad Warner of Waynesville; and three great-grandchildren, Collin and Kendell Warner, and Houston Sawyer. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Daniel Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clyde Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Clyde, NC 28721.
