October 15, 1919 — June 27, 2005

Waynesville-Pearl Miller Page, age 85, formerly of Park Place Condominiums, South Haywood Street, died on Monday, June 27, 2005 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edgar and Mary Mull Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard V. Page, who died in 1995; one sister, Faye Norris; and five brothers, Hauldeen, Floyd, Gordon, Ray, and Mack Miller. Mrs. Page was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Her late husband and Rick McCarroll were co-founders of Mountain Builders. She is survived by two daughters, Vicky Lay and her husband, Ed, of Cleveland, TN and Katie Pacheco and her husband, Darrell, of Waynesville; two sisters, Ruby Turner of Waynesville and Hazel McClure of Brevard; two grandchildren, Charlie Lay and his wife, Lisa, and Andy Lay and his wife, Becca, of Cleveland, TN; and three great grandchildren, Caitlin, Lauren, and Ryan Lay, also of Cleveland, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Dr. Dick Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Pace, Darrell Clark, Mike and Dooley Miller, Stanley Turner, and Earl Norris. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Waynesville Building Fund, P.O. Box 690, Waynesville, NC 28786.
