Pearl Warren Scott, age 92, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at MedWest - Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Burrell and Mandy Grooms Warren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Scott, who died in 1976; a sister, Burndina Rogers; and three brothers, Glenn, Hall and Reeves Warren. She retired from BASF with 38 years of service. Pearl's favorite spot in the mountains was her campground, Shady Rest in Bryson City. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds with Debbie and crocheting beautiful scarves. Above all, Pearl loved being surrounded by her family. She is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Pitts and her husband, Roy, of Canton; a son, Roy Scott of Canton; a sister-in-law, Eula Mae Warren of Canton; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She had a special granddaughter, Debbie Gaddy and her husband, Mike, who cared for Pearl at her home Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
