Pearlene Brown

Clyde, Sally Pearlene Messer Brown, age 69, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and C.T. Messer. In the early 60's, Pearlene was employed by the Dayco Corporation but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She had no children of her own, but she loved her family young'uns dearly. A wonderful cook, she was well-known for her fabulous brownies and sweet tea. Pearlene also loved to collect dolls. She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church and served as secretary of the Church Cemetery Committee. Pearlene is survived by her husband of 48 years, Neil Ansel Brown; four brothers, Donald Messer (Gwen), of Tignall, Georgia and Wilford Messer (Norma) , Jeffery Messer, and Danny Joe "Mutt" Messer (Belinda), all of Clyde; one sister, Patty Davidson (Harold) of Asheville: special nieces, Kristie Keener and Tiffany Messer; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 21 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Eulogy will be given by Charlene Payne and music will be provided by Steve Fincher. Burial will follow at the Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
