Peggy Bowers

Canton - Peggy Ann Whitaker Bowers, age 44, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, for most of her life, she was a daughter of Edward and Ruby Green Whitaker. Peggy will be remembered for being extremely kind-hearted and very generous, almost to a fault. She dearly loved her family, especially her two sons. Peggy was a member of Canton Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two sons, Tyler and Zachary Bowers, both of Sylva; a special friend, Greg Cooper of Candler; one brother, Charles Whitaker of Canton; and a nephew, Cody Whitaker of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Canton Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeremy Cagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Canton Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1346, Canton, NC 28716.
