Peggy Kilgore

Maggie Valley - On September 18, 2011, Ms. Peggy Kilgore passed away with family and friends at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents G. B. and Alpha Dean and brother Buddy Dean. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was also "second mother" to many offering extreme kindness, humor and wisdom. Peggy was a retired Civil Service Administrator for 30+ years. She also worked beside her son and daughter in their family restaurant and gift shop after her retirement. She was survived by her son, Joe Kilgore; one daughter, Sheree Kilgore; her sisters, Margaret Locke, Doris Adams, and Carole Nesbett; one brother, Pete Dean; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. She was also survived by special "family" and friends including the Birchs, Van der Bloms, Sapps, Maloneys, Howells, Harkins, Davis, Butts on the Creek "family" and others too numerous to mention. The family will be receiving friends and guests from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 500 County Line Road, off 21 South, Oxford, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her favorite charities St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 300, Memphis, TN 38148 and the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 358, Waynesville, NC 28785.
