Peggy Mather

Waynesville, Peggy Askew Mather left this life on August 3, 2015. She was born in St. Petersburg, Florida into one the earliest pioneer families in Pinellas County. She and Walter moved happily to the Carolinas in the mid 1960's. She is survived by her beloved family: husband of 60 years Walter B. Mather III; two sons, Walter B. Mather IV and wife Karen and Michael T. Mather; grandchildren, Walter B. Mather V, Katharine O. Mather, Thomas A. Mather; and great grandchildren Hannah and Carder as well as many dear friends and other family members. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Wells Events & Reception Center of Waynesville with Dr. Kenneth M. Johnson officiating. The family will greet guests at a reception following the service. Memorials may be made in her name to: UNC TV, P.O. Box 14900, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709-4900.
