Perry Chapman

Waynesville, NC, Perry Reiniger Chapman, Jr., age 86, died on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, he previously resided at Delray Beach, Florida and had lived in Haywood County for the past 24 years. He was the son of the late Perry Reiniger Chapman, Sr. and Mabel Ellis Chapman. He was a graduate of Georgetown University Dental School and an undergraduate of the University of Maryland. He served as a dental surgeon with rank of Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve. He practiced denistry in Washington DC and in Pompano Beach, Florida. Perry also made dentures for the Cherokee people who could not afford them and was a member of the Masons. He is survived by his wife, Joan Chapman; one son, Steven Perry Chapman and his wife, Elizabeth, of Pompano Beach, Florida; two stepchildren, Debra Consigli of Denver, Colorado and Troy Williams of Joshua Tree, California; and three grandchildren, Steven, Jon, and Lindsey Chapman. No services will be held.
