Philip Nelson Elliott

Philip Nelson Elliott, a cherished figure in our lives, passed away to heart failure on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Born on November 9, 1960, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Philip was known for his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter, which he shared generously with everyone who crossed his path.

With a career that spanned many years as a plumber for Myers Plumbing in Delray Beach, Florida, Philip was dedicated to his craft. He later fulfilled his dreams by opening Elliott Plumbing, a plumbing supply store in the mountains of Cashiers, North Carolina, where he continued to serve his community with the same commitment and passion.

Philip was a fun-loving man who truly embodied joy. He had a knack for storytelling, regaling those around him with jokes that would light up a room. His warm and approachable nature made him not just a friend, but a beacon of positivity to all who knew him.

Outside of work, Philip cherished his time spent in nature, relishing the moments he could cast a line fishing in the ocean and lakes that embraced his Florida home. An accomplished golfer, he found joy swinging clubs on the fairways, where that signature smile never left his face. Philip also demonstrated remarkable skill as a woodworker, crafting beautiful pieces from exotic woods that ranged from signs to intricately made birdhouses, each piece a testament to his creativity and dedication.

Through the struggles of his life, particularly with his heart condition, Philip remained an unwavering optimist. He nurtured grand dreams of traveling to breathtaking places such as Alaska, Montana, Yellowstone, and Yosemite, visions of exploration and adventure that spoke to his love for the great outdoors.

Philip leaves behind a loving family who will forever miss his vibrant presence. He is survived by his brothers, Larry E. Elliott (Karen) of Interlachen, Florida, and Donald E. Elliott (Lisa) of Tuckasegee; his nephew, Donald Philip Elliott; and his nieces, Bailey Elliott, Kerriann Elliott Janke, Kelly Elliott White, and Sarah Harlan.

He joins his parents, Donald Horace Elliott and Phyllis Heil Elliott; his beloved wife, Holly Bruno; and his brother, Richard Samuel Elliott, in eternal rest. Their reunion is a comforting thought amid the sorrow, as we remember the laughter, craftsmanship, and zest for life that defined Philip Nelson Elliott. His spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

The care of Mr. Elliott has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
