Phoebe Seay

Waynesville, Phoebe Kathleen "Bobbie" Bailey Seay, age 92, passed away at Maggie Valley Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Born and raised in Church Hill, Tennessee, she lived all of her adult life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Hazel Bailey and was also preceded in death by her husband, W. L. Seay, Jr., one daughter, Candy Seay, as well as two brothers and four sisters. She was mostly a stay-at-home mom, but at times she was a caregiver for other children and older folks. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Cannon and her husband, Paul, of the Cruso Community and Reta Miller and her husband, Dean, of Waynesville; two sons, Gene Seay and his wife, Barbara, of Marshville, North Carolina and Doug Seay of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Chuck Henson, Jeffery Seay, Necole Payne, Alea Ohmart, and Michelle O'Neil; five great grandchildren, Morgan Henson, Nikkie Cagle, Brooke Murphy, Cody Murphy, and Cody Seay; and two great-great-grandsons, Nickolas Price and Brentley Murphy. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Jonathan Valley Baptist Church with Reverend R. G. Garland and Reverend Michael Nations officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jonathan Valley Baptist Church, 3817 Jonathan Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
