Phyllis Cook

Phyllis Annette Cook, age 64, died on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Mission Hospitals – St. Joseph Campus. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Bessie Scott Robinson and the late Russell Robinson. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She dearly loved her grandson, Rusty. Phyllis was a very loyal and trustworthy friend and was loving and dedicated to her family. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Scott Cook; a grandson, Rusty Cook; four aunts, Frankie Smith, Lucy Best, Betty Jean Rathbone, and Betty Robinson; two uncles, Ray and Weaver Scott; and her former husband and friend, Benny Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley and Reverend Martin Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
