Phyllis Hipps

Phyllis Wilson Hipps, age 54, of Oakmont Drive died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of Phyllis Joy Webb Wilson of Canton and the late James Marcus Wilson who died in 2001. She was a 1969 Pisgah High School graduate and attended St. Genevieve's-of-the-Pines Secretarial School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, Dennis Reeves Hipps; a daughter, Courtney Hipps Parris and her husband, Chad of Canton; a brother, Jimmy Wilson and his wife, Vicki of Canton; two grandchildren, Caroline and Chloe Parris; a niece, Christy Wilson and a nephew, Brent Wilson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Ruff officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Weldon F. Brooks, Edward J. Buckner, Kaine Matthews, Pete Deweese, Dale Parris, David Sheppard, Doug Alexander, Don Price, C. B. Edwards and Daniel Sheppard.
