Canton – Phyllis Worley Mease, 71, passed away on January 3, 2022 at her home.
Phyllis was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Albert Eugene and Blanche Grooms Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Renee Fish and one brother, Larry Eugene Worley. In 1967, Phyllis was in the first class to graduate from Pisgah High School. She was always nurturing and loving her family.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, William “Billy” Mease; one son, Donnie Fish, (Mallora); one brother, Steven Lee Worley (Anna Jean); three grandchildren, Kayla Ann Loope, Sarah Renee Howell, and Dalton Ray Fish; and two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Rennee Sheppard and Evelyn Lorraine Prickett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (National), 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
