Fines Creek-Phyllis Burnette Trantham, age 61, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late David Ransome and Mabel Revis Burnette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gerald, who died in 1998; one sister, Shelby Carroll and two brothers, Ronald and Darrell Burnette. Phyllis was a member of Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Cody Trantham and his wife, Christina, of the Fines Creek Community; three sisters, Vicki Clark and Carol Trammell and her husband, Tommy, all of Waynesville and Freida McGaha and her husband, Bobby, of Tennessee; three brothers, Bobby Burnette and his wife, Brenda, of Waynesville, David Lance and his wife, Johnie, of Canton, and Bruce Revis, of Hickory; and four grandchildren, Derek and Tyler Trantham and Timber and Tanner Carver. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend James Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry ad Jordan Trantham, Rick Arrington, Rodney Hannah, Jerry Green, John Cower, Randy Ledford, and Jerry Ring.
