Polly Roberts

Pauline "Polly" Liner Roberts, age 84, of 9 First Street went to her heavenly home on Monday, September 22, 2008, at Memorial Mission Hospital following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Sam P. and Cara Snyder Liner. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Higgins and Lois Buckner; and two brothers, Jack Liner, Sr. and Hal Liner. She was a member of Canton First Baptist Church and the 30th Signal Company Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother. Polly, simply put, was an angel to her family and others. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Floyd M. "Flossie" Roberts; four daughters, Ricki Jackson and her husband, Danny, Rebecca McDowell and her husband, Charles, Donna Wood and her husband, Mike, and Debbie Jenkins and her husband, Keith, all of Canton; three brothers, Gene Liner of Detroit, MI, George "Bebe" Liner of Hickory, and William Liner of Waynesville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Dick Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
