Polly Worley

Polly Scott Worley, age 93, of 172 Rice Cove Road, died Monday, September 10, 2007, at her daughter's residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Rufus and Elizabeth Robinson Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Worley who died in 1985; a daughter Elizabeth "Betty" Israel; and three brothers, Hildred, Charles, and George Scott. She was a member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Cogburn of Canton; a son Ralph Worley, Jr. and his wife, Ruby, of Canton; a brother, Archie Scott and his wife, Vivian, of Canton; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Drum and Reverend Gene Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her daughter, 133 Westmoreland Circle.
