Maggie Valley-Priscilla Joann Grenfell, age 78, of Mountain Crest Drive, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Moline, Illinois, she was a former resident of Western Springs, IL and Islamorada, FL. Priscilla was a summer resident of Haywood County since 1992. She was the daughter of the late John Arnold and Annette Elizabeth Carlson Torsell. She was a graduate of Chicago Christian High School and Fox Business College. She and her late husband, James Ahlswede, founded Tri-Tronics in Illinois. Following his death, she relocated the company to Tampa, FL and at the time of her death, she was the CEO of Tri-Tronics. She is survived by her husband, of 15 years, Fredrick James Grenfell; three daughters, Karen Quirch and her husband, Lou, of Plantation Key, FL, Sue Hale and her husband, Jeff, of Tavernier, FL, and Linda Globus and her husband, Michael, of Islamorada, FL; one son, Randy Ahlswede and his wife, Edwina, of New Smyrna Beach, FL; one stepdaughter, Michelle Harding and her husband, Brad, of Ponce De Leon, FL; three stepsons, Scott Grenfell of Colorado Springs, Joel Grenfell and his wife, Patty, and James Grenfell, all of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Marilyn Jensen, of Clearwater, FL; 15 grandchildren, Christopher and Evan Ahlswede, Lindsey Hale Melendez, Matthew Hale, Nicolette and Timothy Globus, Priscilla, Bruce, and Jonathan White, Louis Tepper, Kirsten, Erica, Gabrielle and Ashley Grenfell, and Christian Taylor; one great grandson, Harrison Jordan Taylor. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at Matecumbe United Methodist Church in Islamorada, FL with Reverend Barbara Ammon officiating.
