Waynesville-Queen Justice Jones, a native of Haywood County and a former resident of Givens Estates, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at her residence in Brighton Gardens of Charlotte. She was the daughter of the late Homer Cathey Justice, Sr. and Margaret Cordelia Queen Justice. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Homer Cathey Justice, Jr. She graduated from Brevard College and Western Carolina Teachers College and also attended Duke University. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheville and was an active member for 34 years. She was an avid bridge player and a retired grammar school teacher, having taught for 30 years in the Haywood and Buncombe County school systems. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Athel Jones of Charlotte; two sons, Joe Athel Jones and his wife, Delors, of Charlotte, NC and Charles Max Jones and wife, Sandra, of Jasper, GA; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Jones of Charlotte and Shannon Jones Crews and husband, Sean, of Tallahassee, FL; and two great grandchildren, Chase Crews and Isabel Parker Crews. The family received friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2006 in the parlor at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Waynesville. Memorials may be given to Children's Home, Inc., 1001 Reynolds Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104-3200.
