R. Barmore

Waynesville, R. S. Barmore, Jr., 61, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late R. S. Barmore and Margie Jackson Barmore and was also preceded in death by a brother, Vance Barmore; two nephews, Travis Moore and Delton Cullins and one niece, Jerrita R. Elliot. R. S. was a 1972 graduate of Tuscola High School, where he was an outstanding record-holding football player. R. S. was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering with cars and doing yard work with his best friend, Cuda. R. S. is survived by a son, Adrian Cullins (Jamie) of Charlotte; four sisters, Mamie Cullins of Hendersonville, Alice Moore (Charles) and Pat Bryant, both of Waynesville and Nancy Brewster, of Greenville, South Carolina; and one grandson, Asher Cullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Mosley, Reverend Cleveland Martin, Reverend William Staley and Reverend Walter Bryson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.
