Rachel Parris

Waynesville-Rachel Ruff Parris, age 67, of 87 Westwood Circle, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Angel Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Edna Reece and the late Leonard Ruff. She loved to play bingo and travel. She is survived by a daughter, Julie P. Brooks and her husband, Tim, of Waynesville; a son, Therold Nichols and his wife, Cindy, of Clyde; two brothers, Robert L. Ruff of Clyde and Thomas Hank Ruff of Waynesville; and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2005 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Kitty Crane officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim and David Brooks, Brad, Bryan, Thomas, and James Ruff. Memorials may be given to Gideon International, Haywood West Camp, P.O. Box 634, Waynesville, NC 28786.
