Rafaelina Navarro

Waynesville, Rafaelina Carrillo Navarro, age 89, of Cruso Road, died on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Humacao, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Felipe and Inés Carrillo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Navarro; two brothers, Luis and Juan R. Carrillo; one granddaughter, Theresa Huber Saunders; and one great grandson, Raphael Huber. She was employed as a buyer for NY Department Stores for 46 years. Rafaelina enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Amalia Huber and husband, Arthur of the Cruso Community; five grandchildren, Col. Arthur Huber II and wife, Beth, Eric Huber and wife, Tamara, Karl Huber and wife, Jennifer, Billy Huber, Michelle Huber Stith and husband, Mark; grandson-in-law, Todd Saunders; and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Isabel Huber-Scott and husband, Walter, of Dallas, TX; by her niece, Ines Mersch and her husband Bill, her nephews, Richard Huber and his wife Mary Ann, and Major Robert Huber and his wife Mi Suk and several nieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was dear to so many and will be remembered by all for her most generous heart and loving ways. Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Larry LoMonaco officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
