Ralph Haynes

Waynesville, Ralph Edward Haynes, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Brian Center. He was born on February 5, 1924, the son of the late Robert Lee and Bonnie Davis Haynes. Ralph was raised in the Fines Creek community and was a resident of Hazelwood. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Zora Smith Haynes and two sisters, Elva Haynes Fisher and Iva Lee Haynes. Ralph was a polio survivor, and was a member of Sulphur Spring Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to sing at church, loved gospel music, and Ralph, especially liked playing Bingo and doing crafts at the Brian Center. Ralph always had a smile on his face and was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He is survived by a brother, Roy Wayne Haynes and his wife, Mary Jane, of Waynesville; nephews, Roy Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Jeff Haynes and Ronnie and Mike Fisher all of Waynesville; nieces, Joyce Austin of Canton, Donna Massengale of Sylva and Debbie Dearman of Statesville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday May 21, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Wyatt and Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Haynes, Roy Haynes, Jr., Josh Dearman, Mike Fisher, Ronnie Fisher, Paul Austin and Mark Austin. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
