Ralph Prevost, Jr.

Waynesville, Ralph Lee Prevost, Jr., age 77, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Ralph Lee and Dorothy Lane Prevost. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Davis. Ralph was employed by Dayco Corporation for 37 years in Senior Management. He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. Ralph was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, affectionally known to many as "Sonny", he was a true people person. Sonny was a caregiver and confidant to countless friends. He took great pride in his North Carolina heritage and instilled this sense of history in his family. Sonny supported all of his son's endeavors and truly cherished making memories at "The Cabin" at Pisgah. He was a leader inside the home and at the workplace and will be missed by all. Ralph is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marty Prevost; two sons, Lee Prevost, and his wife, Scharme, of Morrisville, NC; and Daniel Prevost, and his wife, Jane Davis, of Asheville, NC; one sister, Lane "Nink" Swift, of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Smith, Audrey, Lily and Sophie. The family wishes to acknowledge the many close friends and cherished relatives that made his life so special. And you know who you are. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville with Pastor Holly Davis officiating. The family will continue the celebration of Sonny's life following the service at the Wells Events & Reception Center and all are invited.
