Ralph Queen

Canton-Ralph "Blondie" Queen-91, of the Henson Cove Community, died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at his residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Horace and Clarcie Stamey Queen. He was the husband of the late Cathren Henson Queen who died in 1992 and was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Clark. He retired from Champion International and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. Mr. Queen was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Q. Roberts of Canton, one son, Harold Queen of Hendersonville, one sister, Mabel Clark of Charlotte, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Spring Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Willett and Reverend James Parham officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, 1918 Murray Road, Canton, NC 28716.
