Waynesville, Ray "Bouncer" Seay, age 85, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 13, 2008. He was a native of Bryson City, and was the son of the late Noah Patterson and Maude Shelley Seay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II and for 45 years, he was owner and operator of Ray Seay Advertising Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville where he attended the Asbury Sunday School Class. Ray was involved in civic organizations and was a former member of the Waynesville Lions Club. He was a Mason and member of Clyde Lodge No. 453 AF&AM and the Oasis Shrine. Ray was a long-time member of the Waynesville Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He loved life, and his family and friends were his life. His sense of humor and positive outlook were hallmarks of his daily life. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Rogers Seay; one daughter, Kathey S. Hornbuckle and her husband, Jim, of St. Simons Island, GA; one sister, Mary Margaret Hardy, of Concord, NC; two grandchildren, Shelly H. Pine and her husband, Kevin, of Lawrenceville, GA and Dr. James H. Hornbuckle and his wife, Ashley, of St. Simons Island, GA; three great grandchildren, Tyler Harrison Pine of Lawrenceville, GA and Merritt Elizabeth and James Harrison Hornbuckle IV, both of St. Simons Island, GA; sister-in-law, Frances Williams; sister and brother in laws, Mary Deane and Jerry Davis, Max and Pat Rogers, Jean and Jack Walker, all of Waynesville; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells, Reverend Kathleen M. Wilson, and Reverend Hardy Tippett officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with military graveside rites. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Steve Williams, Alan Walker, Dean Howell, Jim and John Seay, Patrick Bradshaw and great grandson, Tyler Pine. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Waynesville Rotary Club and the Asbury Sunday School School Class. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Waynesville Building Fund, P.O.
