RAYMOND L. "RAY" BRADLEY "1928 – 2011" Canton, Raymond Lee "Ray" Bradley, age 83, of Painter Street, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at MedWest Haywood. A native of York County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ebenezer and Ochie Bradley. Ray was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He was a retired employee of Asheville Steel in Arden and attended The Church of God in Waynesville. Ray had a passion for gospel music, and sung with the Victory Trio and the Ensley Family. He played the steel and acoustic guitar and also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his companion of 36 years, Edna M. Bradley; two sons, Daniel Bradley of Waynesville and Ray Bradley, II of South Carolina; two step-sons, Dwayne McGaha of Canton and Darryle McGaha of Clyde; six daughters, Denise Anders and her husband, Mark, of Clyde, Betty Irvin and her husband, Jon, of Ohio, Linda Brackett and Wanda Oliver of South Carolina, Mary Kieffer of Michigan, Melody Murray and her husband, Doug, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; one sister, Dolly Moss and her husband, Joe, of South Carolina; one brother, Leroy Bradley; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Lamm officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
